ORGANIC The Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Organic Farming is the extra virgin olive oil from Colletorto that originates from the pressing of olives exclusively cultivated in the surrounding fields. Cultivation takes place employing what is defined as integrated or organic agricultural methods. These methods respect the qualities of the soil, the link between man and nature and the good health of the consumer.
It is an oil that is ideal for savoury sauces, raw and barbequed meats and “bruschetta” (roasted bread).
The organic olive oil produced in the village of Colletorto contains all the pureness of our nature. It is the olive oil that respects the highest principles of the environment and above all does not include the use of chemical fertilizers.
Behind the scenes of our finished product there is the careful attention of our olive farmers. The olive trees are carefully cultivated, ensuring plants that have not been genetically modified.
Fertilization is purely organic in origin; nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium are naturally added to the soil by the use of natural manure. No substances produced in a lab are permitted.
The soil cultivation favours those measures which prevent the degradation and the erosion of the soil structure. The protection of the trees against parasites and weeds is made without pesticides, fungicides, etc, but only using means of supplemented fight, that is taking advantage of the natural rivals of parasites and diseases.
Even in the oil pressing stage special care is taken in the washing of the equipment, in order to avoid any possible contamination with non organic products.
All organic agriculture is undertaken by European Regulations that protect not only the producers but also the consumer (CEE REG. 2092/91). These regulations provide rules for organic cultivation and precise checks of all the oil farms that apply this technique.
All the care taken enables us to produce a special olive oil which involves exciting feelings and emotions.
